Enjoy our props/weapons section, in this section you will see weapons and set dressing items used from the actual film sets. The props/weapons made by WETA workshop of New Zealand are very very well made and to me appear to be better made or quality then other studios I have in my collection. WETA has since gone on to make wardrobe and weapons for others shows/movies such as ‘Eragon’ , ‘The Last Samurai’, ‘The Lord of the Ring’ series, etc.......

The swords and weapons on the sets were made in 3 different categories... metal - also known or called hero weapons and were made for the actors and for close ups, only a few of these were made. Second was Resin - these were made for up close scenes to make the scenes look real but where the actors couldn’t be hurt, more of these were made than the metal in case they happened to get broke or damaged. The last type was Closed Cell Foam- they were used for the fight scenes so nobody could be harmed in the choreography, this style was made in lot quantities because of breakage or damage due to the rough handling on the sets.
